For the fifth consecutive year, the pharmaceutical laboratory is sponsoring the biggest European initiative for raising the population’s awareness regarding the risks of sun exposure and encouraging sun protection habits

Under the slogan “Europe has a skin cancer problem”, the campaign seeks to raise awareness of the consequences of inadequate sun exposure and the importance of the prevention and early detection of this disease.

Barcelona, April 2017 – Once more, and for the fifth consecutive year, mesoestetic Pharma Group participates in the European campaign for the prevention of skin cancer, Euromelanoma. The campaign tries to promote education about health and the assumption of healthy habits with regards to sun exposure, as well as encouraging the early diagnosis of skin cancer. The initiative has thus become the leading reference in public health across the continent.
The incidence of skin cancer is growing continuously and is already considered to be a worldwide epidemic. In fact, according to the WHO (World Health Organization), skin cancer is the most common cancer in the world and the incidence of melanoma is growing faster than that of any other cancer.
Given this reality, the Euromelanoma 2018 campaign slogan is “Europe has a skin cancer problem”, which seeks to highlight the impact that skin cancer entails. Motivated by its commitment to skin health, mesoestetic has joined the Euromelanoma 2018 campaign, convinced that knowledge and awareness are essential for preventing skin cancer.
In addition to this collaboration with Euromelanoma 2018, mesoestetic Pharma Group this year presented a complete range of broad-spectrum photoprotectors that protect against both UVA and UVB radiation, as well as the effects of ‘visible light’ (HEV) and infrared radiation (IR). The extremely effective mesoprotech® by mesoestetic product line features high (SPF 30) or very high protection (SPF 50+), which are developed with rigorously selected ingredients to enhance sun protection, adapting to the needs and requirements of different skin types.
Promoted and supported by hundreds of voluntary dermatologists from all over the continent, Euromelanoma is a macro initiative in which 33 European countries participate and that aims to raise society’s awareness about the importance of healthy habits to prevent the occurrence of skin cancer, to inform about the warning signs of the malignancy of different skin lesions and their treatment options. The campaign also includes one week of early detection screening, which has evaluated over 450,000 people in recent years.
