do you send all the homecare products home during phase 4 of the treatment?

This would be at the discretion of the practitioner, but it is recommended that the clinic keeps most of the products and sends the patient home with some initial products. This is so the patient maintains a relationship with the clinic during the treatment by coming in to collect the products when needed. This will allow the practitioner to evaluate the results of the treatment over time.
Another benefit of not providing all the products at once is that the patient cannot overuse them, which can result in poorer outcomes.

how long does it take for each stage of the treatment?

A cosmelan® treatment will last up to 12 months and it is very important that a thorough consultation is performed prior to treatment. A cosmelan® consultation will take between 45 minutes to 1 hour. The first phase of treatment is homecare skin preparation, and it is recommended that the patient prepares for a minimum of 2 weeks.
Phase 2 is the first in clinic treatment which is the melanostop peel. This will take approximately 30 minutes.
Phase 3 is the second in clinic treatment performed 2 days later and will take approximately 30 minutes.
Phase 4 is all homecare; however, you may see the patient from time to time if you choose to keep the products in clinic.

is there enough product in the box to last the full duration of a cosmelan® treatment?

The cosmelan® system has been configured to give enough repair products, active products, and protective products to last the duration of the treatment.

what is the difference between the current cosmelan® treatment and the cosmelan® system treatment?

The existing system is still available as an option however we have introduced the cosmelan® system to simplify the treatment protocol. In the new cosmelan® system all the products required for the treatment duration are included from the beginning. This means that the patient is more likely to be compliant with the treatment protocol, which will produce better long term results for the patient.
The current cosmelan® system does not include all of the products for the aftercare phase of the treatment, meaning the patient needs to purchase products as they go along which involves more effort and will be more costly over the treatment period, which may result in the patient not seeing the treatment through.
