Frequently asked questions about the blemiderm® medical method

Is this treatment completely painless?

Yes. During the professional session, application of the mask may cause itching and stinging - this is an expected effect. It can be controlled by offering the user a fan or an item that allows them to fan themselves to improve tolerability.

Do the blemishes disappear completely?

Blemishes are significantly reduced, and the quality of the skin improves notably. Acne is a chronic condition triggered mainly by a hyperactivation of hormonal pathways. Using an at-home blemiderm® routine for at least 3 months and repeating the professional protocol as per a professional's opinion will help to keep the blemishes under control

When is the best time to use the blemiderm® method?

For optimal results, we recommend that you use the method during periods when your exposure to the sun is low. This protects the skin from the onset of PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) while acting when the acne is most prevalent.

When can the results be seen?

The results start to be noticeable after the first session in clinic. After 15 days, a reduction in redness and in the number of active blemishes is noted.

When should the at-home routine begin?

These are carried out at the same time as the professional sessions in the clinic. After the first treatment session, the patient can start using purifying mousse as part of their daily facial hygiene routine. They can then start to apply blemiderm® treatment at night once the skin has recovered its eudermic state, some 24-48 hours later. Prolonging the at-home treatment for 3 months is essential for ensuring that the desired result is achieved.

Can it be combined with other pharmacological acne treatments?

Yes. The blemiderm® method can be used together with other oral and topical treatments such as antibiotics and hormonal therapies. However, the combination with topical or oral retinoids is not recommended as these treatments make the skin very sensitive, which could lead to an over-reaction to the blemiderm® method.

In addition to the products included in the blemiderm® home pack, can other anti-blemish solutions products be used?

Yes. We recommend that you combine the treatment with the probiotic-based blemiderm® caps nutritional supplement. This is a product that uses the latest scientific research relating to the gut-skin axis. Other recommended products: Blemiderm® local control, due to its focussed action on blemishes; exfoliating and matifying pure renewing mask, based on white clay and blemiderm® resurfacing gel, which acts as an intensive skin rejuvenator to prevent blemishes.
